Based in Bellingham, Washington, Drabek Web Solutions is owned and operated by Robbie Drabek. Services include web site design, development and ongoing support. Robbie has a certificate in Web Design and Development from Western Washington University and many years of experience in the information technology field. Web sites range in complexity from basic "brochure" sites to more complex sites and use of popular tools such as WordPress or PayPal. Other features, such as email forms to collect customer information, photo galleries, blogs, or password protection to your site, are also available. Fairhaven Massage & Therapy Center This site is a basic brochure site that can be easily extended to include a blog in the future. A WordPress theme was cutomized to meet requirements. It features a clean design, site search box, and a navigation menu in the left sidebar that remains in place when the user scrolls down the page.
Bird-in-Hand Arts This site is a customized WordPress site, featuring galleries for graphic art, book art, travel journals and crafts. It also contains tutorials and a blog.
Ridgestar Aussies This site is a rewrite of basic html site. While the original site was fully functional, it was high maintenance. The outward appearance is almost identical, but the code is now based on a single template, styling has been separated out from the content, and it is compliant with current industry standards (W3C). An enhanced slide show was also implemented.
Whatcom Volunteer Center This site is a custom installation, powered by WordPress. It features a blog, drop-down menu navigation, a homepage slideshow with links to the key events/programs, and an email form for the volunteer timesheet. It is an example of WordPress used as a CMS or Content Management System.
Jane Cather, artist This is a basic html site built on a Dreamweaver template, which makes it easy to change out pages and tweak the design. It contains unique displays of Jane’s artwork, such as the “women of the village” gallery and “meditations” pages. It has an email form for collecting information for her email list and a link to Jane’s WordPress blog, hosted for free on WordPress.com. This site is an example of a standard html site linked to WordPress for blogging.
Whatcom Agility Team This is another basic html site built on a Dreamweaver template. It contains a “members only” section that is password protected and links to a WordPress blog, hosted on WordPress.com. The WordPress blog has been customized to have the same look and feel as the main site.
Renee L. Surratt, LMP This site is a custom installation of WordPress as a Content Management System, but the blogging functionality is turned off. It shows that WordPress doesn’t have be be about blogging at all.
Northwest Wildlife Rehabilitation Center This is a basic html site, featuring many photos of animals undergoing rehabilitation, including a special slideshow of a young osprey’s release into the wild. PayPal is used for accepting donations.
The Bellingham Review This is a basic html site that receives a new look each year to match the paper edition. Because it was built on a template and separates out the css styling from the html presentation, the new look can be achieved with a minimum of fuss.
Brenda Miller, author A basic html site, featuring Brenda’s books, links to her essays on other web sites, interviews, upcoming events and contact information. The madrone tree is an example of a custom graphic designed by Drabek Web Solutions.
Suzanne Paola, author A basic html site, featuring Suzanne’s books, both poetry and prose, as well as upcoming events and web links. It also contains a contact form, as an alternative to providing an email address on the web.
Bruce Beasley, author A basic html site featuring Bruce’s books and links to his poetry that has been published in various online journals.
Dog-Friendly Dog Training This site is a dog training primer, featuring the use of a clicker and lots of positive reinforcement. It is a basic html site.
A Week in the Galapagos Do you need password authorization for part of your web site? This site is an example of directory level access. The user name is demo and the password is demo. The site contains a gallery of travel photos, presented in the context of an interactive map. You can follow the trip by choosing a location on the map or go day-by-day by clicking on the tortoises.
